As a child, I stubbornly stuck to an incorrect spelling. My mother often tried to explain the mistake, but I wouldn’t budge, insisting that my teacher had taught it to me. The irony was that my mother was also a teacher at my school, but because she didn’t teach my specific class, I didn’t believe her over my own teacher.
